    Onside kick attempt recover by D.J. Hayden but UH goes four-and-out and turns it over on downs. Miner ball at the UH 34.

    UTEP has scored 21-unanswered points as they marched down the field on a seven-play 89-yard drive taking 3:15 off the clock. Edwards catches a 16-yard touchdown pass to cap the drive. Two-point conversion is no good.

    Both teams are down an offensive lineman after ejections to Ty Cloud and UTEP's Jerel Watkins. Forsch moves in at left guard for Houston.

    UTEP scores their third touchdown of the game, Jefferies second rushing.

    UTEP busts out the trick play and scores a 42-yard touchdown. Third time they've shown the reverse play, this time the pitchman threw the ball on the reverse and found a wide open receiver.

    Freshman Adrian McDonald picks off a pass for his first career turnover in his first start of the year.

    Matt Hogan knocks in a 24-yard FG. Hogan is perfect under 40 this year.

    And the Houston offense wastes little time in capitalizing on the Miners mistakes - McDuffey hauls in a 34-yard catch from Piland to put Houston at the one yard line and Charles Sims punches it in on the next play.

    Charles Sims moves into sole possesion of third place in school history for rushing touchdowns with 29. Jackie Battle (2003-06 - 31) is next on the list.

    First pass for UTEP pops out of receivers hands and into Zach McMillian's for his second pick of the year, third of career and fifth turnover of the game for UTEP.

    Derrick Mathews already at 10 tackles - fourth time this year he's reached double-digits. Trevon Stewart also in double digits with his third time this year.

    Charles Sims punches in it from six yards out for his second rushing score of the game. Sims moves into a tie with Ketric Sanford (1996-99) for third all-time with 28 rushing touchdowns.

    5th straight game with 35 points for Houston, third time in school history they've accomplished that.

    Defense flying around out there - Phillip Steward makes his fourth forced fumble of his career and Radermon Scypion recovers it. Houston ball at the Miner 29.

    4:42 p.m.
    D.J. Hayden returns an interception 97-yards for a touchdown, the second-longest in school history for his second pick of the game. His second-straight game with a pick-six.

    4:32 p.m.
    Larry McDuffey makes his third career-touchdown catch on a 24-yard pass play from David Piland. Cougars third 20+ yard play this game.

    4:25 p.m.
    Special team miscues leads to seven points for the Miners. Punt hits off Alex Tillman and Miners recover the ball and punch it in for six on their first snap.

    4:19 p.m.
    Derrick Mathews forces his first fumble of his career on the sack, pushes UTEP back to third and 18 as they recovered. Miners set to punt when the second quarter resumes.

    4:14 p.m.
    Deontay Greenberry makes his second-career touchdown catch to put Houston up 14-0. 11 play, 61-yard drive taking 3:08.

    D.J. Hayden picks off UTEP's first pass on their third drive , his third of the season and fifth of career. Houston ball at their own 39.

    Charles Sims rips off a 43-yard touchdown run on his first touch and the first play from scrimmage on Houston's second drive. Sims 9th rushing touchdown of the year.

    4:02 p.m.
    Defense holds serve with a three-and-out after the great field position. Houston ball at the Miner 43 yard line.

    3:57 p.m.
    Richie Leone boots a 56-yard punt, pins UTEP inside their own five for the second drive. Tenth punt inside the 20, 7th inside the 10 this year and 13th 50+ yarder.

    Mark Roberts blocks the UTEP FG attempt on the Miners first drive. Head coach Tony Levine got some serious air on the chestbump to the sophomore.
