HOUSTON - For the second straight season, the University of Houston will auction off the jerseys the football team wears during the annual Homecoming game with proceeds benefitting Cougar Pride and the UH Alumni Association.

The on-line auction will be held, beginning Nov. 3 and running until 5 p.m., Nov. 16. Nearly 100 jerseys will be available starting Nov. 3 with additional items being added as the auction proceeds. Fans should stay tuned to UHCougars.com and Houston Athletics' social media site for the latest information.

"After the success of last year's auction, we are happy to once again offer this opportunity to our fans,," Associate Athletics Director for External Relations Jeramiah Dickey said. "As we celebrate our annual Homecoming game, all Cougar fans will want to own a piece of memorabilia from our final season at Robertson Stadium."

Football head coach Tony Levine unveiled the predominantly grey and red jerseys for the first time earlier this week during his weekly press luncheon. His Cougars will wear the uniforms for the first and only time when they play host to Conference USA rival Tulsa at 4 p.m., Nov. 10, on John O'Quinn Field at Robertson Stadium

This marks the second straight season that the Cougars will wear commemorative Homecoming uniforms. A year ago, the Cougars wore throwback uniforms in homage to Houston Football teams from the 1970s. Houston enjoyed a 63-28 Homecoming win against Conference USA-rival Marshall as former quarterback Case Keenum became the NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision career leader in total offense.

The auction that followed the 2011 game helped raise nearly $60,000 for both Cougar Pride and the UH Alumni Association.
