Student-Guest Tickets for Final Two Home Games on Sale Monday Morning
Nov. 12, 2009
HOUSTON - Student-guest tickets for the 12th-ranked University of Houston football team's final two regular-season home games will go on sale Monday morning. In the past, student-guest tickets have not been made available for purchase until the week of the game. However, with the Thanksgiving holiday approaching, Athletics Ticket Office officials elected to make the Rice student-guest tickets available as well Monday for students' convenience. "The atmosphere around Robertson Stadium has been fun and exciting all season long, and our students are a big reason for that," Houston assistant athletics director for ticket operations Mike Rea said. "Our students give us a tremendous home-field advantage, and we know they will support the team for the final two regular-season games." Students with valid Cougar Cards can purchase guest tickets, beginning at 8 a.m., Monday, at the Athletics Ticket Office on the first floor of the Athletics/Alumni Center. Students can buy up to four guest tickets for each of the remaining home games.
The student organization with the biggest reported turnout for the Cougars' game against Conference USA-rival Memphis at noon, Nov. 21 will win a suite at one men's basketball game and pizza for those students from their organization that attended the football game. Student groups in attendance at the Memphis football game must sign in at Game Day Central at Gate 1 to be eligible. Student groups that would like to participate should contact Houston assistant athletics director of marketing and promotions Sean Randall at srandall@central.uh.edu.
Forced into an onsides kick, the Cougars recovered the loose ball and moved 27 yards to set up redshirt freshman kicker Matt Hogan's game-winning 51-yard field goal as time expired. With the win, the Cougars extended their winning streak to five straight games and remained in a tie with SMU atop the C-USA West Division.
Fans always can purchase tickets to UH events, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, by visiting UHCougars.com and clicking the Tickets link.
The Cougars return to the friendly confines of John O'Quinn Field at Robertson Stadium at noon, Nov. 21, when they play to Conference USA-rival Memphis. Houston wraps up its 2009 regular season when it plays host to Rice at 7 p.m., Nov. 28, at Robertson Stadium. |
