For just $30, you can be one of the lucky students to experience this exciting event in person!
With the help of a few generous underwriters, UH is making transportation and tickets available for the first 350 currently-enrolled (fall semester 2006) UH students who sign up. For just $30, you receive:
Round-trip bus transportation to Memphis;
Disabled students needing special accommodations should contact Ms. Juanita Jackson at 713-743-5390.
Buses will take riders to downtown Memphis for the Liberty Bowl parade scheduled for 4 p.m., Dec. 28, and bring them back from downtown later that night. On Dec. 29, the buses will depart from hotels at noon to take riders to the pregame tailgate at the Coliseum adjacent to the Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium. The game begins at 3:30 p.m. The buses will leave for Houston immediately after the game, arriving between 5-6:00 a.m. Detailed itineraries will be distributed when you arrive in Memphis.
The reservations' office will work with students to identify the hotel and room. Students will need lodging for two nights, - Dec. 27 and 28. The cost will be between $80 -$112 a night per room, including tax, with breakfast provided. Up to 4 persons can share a room and share the cost, which could bring the per person cost down to $20 -25 per night, so get with your friends who are also on the bus and make your reservations together.
