HOUSTON, Texas - On a Chamber of Commerce day the University of Houston football team continued its bowl preparation with a spirited workout for an hour-and-a-half earlier in the day. The Cougars will take on TCU in the Texas Bowl on Friday, December 28 at Reliant Stadium.

After reporting back to the UH campus yesterday, the Cougars practiced for the second straight day leading up to the encounter with the Horned Frogs. A day after working out in full pads with live action, the Cougars spent this workout in shoulder pads and helmets at the UH Practice Fields.

UH interim head coach Chris Thurmond is pleased with today's efforts.

"We had good tempo today," said Thurmond. "We got a lot of things done. We did a lot of blitz pickup against each other, as well as some pass skelly against one another. And, we did some one-on-one against each other.

"We did some team situations, where we were separated offensively and defensively. We got rolling and we had a good day today."

Houston will spend Christmas Day with another morning workout, then retiring for the day for a team activity. The Cougars will practice again on Wednesday and then take part in a walk through on Thursday at Reliant Stadium.
