One of the top offensive linemen in Conference USA...is the anchor to the Cougar offensive line...teams with guard Rex Hadnot as one of the top linemen tandems in the league... was one of the best freshmen linemen in the history of the University of Houston two seasons ago...improved even more as a sophomore... athletic big man who has tremendous leadership skills for an underclassman... punishing run blocker with a non-stop motor... is also a very crafty pass blocker... returns in the fall as UH's starting center for the third straight season...will be considered for postseason honors for the next two years... 2002: Is lost for the season after suffering a knee injury during practice prior to the Memphis game...had started all seven games this season, running streak to 29 straight games as a starter...named to the Watch List for the prestigious Lombardi Award...has not surrendered a sack all season...so far this season has graded out at 86 percent, which leads all offensive linemen...2001: For the second straight season has provided every snap at center while starting all 11 games...was named UH Offensive Player-of-the-Week for his outstanding performance versus nationally-ranked Texas...led the team with 105 knockdown blocks...posted a season-high 18 knockdowns in Louisville contest..also racked up double-digit knockdown blocks versus Texas (10), Cincinnati (17), Southern Miss (10), and South Florida (11)...also has 46 pancake and 23 "ESPN" blocks... 2000: Was one of only two freshmen (Josh Tubbs) to start every game for the Cougars last season...as a matter of fact, he provided every snap at center that year...named to the Conference USA All-Freshman squad...offense generated 340 yards per game...passing attack was ranked 16th in the nation and second in Conference USA with 268.6 yards per game...allowed only three sacks all season...graded out at 83 percent over the entire season...recorded 66 pancake blocks, 95 knockdown blocks and 33 "ESPN" blocks... 1999: Redshirted as a true freshman... High School: Named to the All-Big Bend squad by the Tallahassee Democrat...an honorable mention all-district choice...graded out at 89 percent on the season...recorded 61 blocks, 60 pancakes and did not allow a single sack...helped his team to a 9-4 record and to the third round of the Class 6A playoffs in 1998...his sophomore year, helped his team to a 10-0 record and the district title...selected to compete in the Florida state weightlifting meet three times, and finished in the Top 10 as a sophomore... his best lifts were a 450 bench, 350 clean and jerk and a squat of 650 pounds...
