Houston Football continued Training Camp and Thursday's Practice #7 focused on the running backs and tight ends.
Led by new coach Kenith Pope, the running back core lost the least amount of players from the 2014 season and returns the thunder-lightning combination of Kenneth Farrow and Ryan Jackson.
The American's leading scorer and second-best back in the league by rushing yards, Farrow ended 2014 with four straight games of over 100 yards. He became the 24th player in UH history with over 1,000 yards in a season with 1,037 yards along with 14 TDs.
The leading rusher in 2013, Jackson finished 2014 with 610 yards on 112 carries for a career-best 5.4 yards per carry.
The running back depth showcases sophomore Javin Webb, who rushed for 144 yards and one touchdown on 19 carries in 2014 along with newcomers Tyreik Gray and Kevrin Justice.
The tight end group, led by new coach Corby Meekins, will be highlighted by junior Tyler McCloskey. Others tight ends who should make an impact are redshirt freshman Romello Brooker, and true freshmen Ryan Deshotel, Kobe Idumowonyl, senior Hayden Daniels, junior Corey Manges and sophomore Byron Simpson.
Thursday featured the first removal of a blue stripe - going to Javin Webb.
