    Farewell to Conference USA: Men's Golf

    A look back at Houston Men's Golf in Conference USA from 1996 to 2013

    Beginning his fourth season with the Cougars, assistant coach Chip Huston has been a valuable addition to the UH golf program. Showing a strong work ethic, Huston has been instrumental in daily team practices, recruiting, strength and conditoning and other day-to-day activities.

    Huston came to UH in January 2000 after graduation from the University of Oklahoma. He spent four years with the OU golf program as an undergraduate assistant coach and manager. He was actively involved with the Red River Classic and The Maxwell golf tournaments and the 1997 NCAA Central Regional Championship.

    Huston has a wealth of experience working with young golfers including serving as assistant director of the Sooner Golf Academy. A native of Ponca City, Oklahoma, Huston played one year of college golf with Southwestern College in Kansas, where he attained All-Conference and All-Region as a freshman.

    He transferred to OU his sophomore year, graduating with a degree in Business Management. Huston is single and lives in Houston.
