    1997-98: Played in all 13 tournaments... averaged 74.4 strokes over 39 rounds... played extremely well at the NCAA Central Regional, finishing tied for fourth with a season-low 209 (71-68-70)... placed second among UH golfers at the NCAA Central Regional, the LSU Intercollegiate and the Morris Williams Classic... recorded seven rounds equal or below par... his 139 over the first two rounds at the NCAA Central Regional was the second lowest total by a UH golfer through 36 holes.

    1996-97: Played in 10 tournaments, posting a 75.8 stroke average... played in 10 of the team's final 12 events... best finish was a tie for 26th at UH's own All-America Intercollegiate Invitational with a 153... shot a first-round and season-best 67 at the NCAA Championships and was among the early leaders... had three sub-par rounds.

    High School/Juniors: Four-time All-State and All-District selection at Trinity Christian Academy in Addison, Texas... served as the team captain during his junior and senior seasons after earning MVP honors as a sophomore... member of four state championship teams... also lettered in basketball and soccer, where he was a two-time All-District selection... member of Who's Who in High School Sports last three years at Trinity...had nine top 10 finishes in junior competition... fifth at 1994 and 1995 Doral Junior World Publics Championships... invited to three Rolex Junior Classics and Tournament of Champions.

    Personal: Born Bobby Lee Staten, Jr. on September 22, 1977 in Nashville, Tennessee... parents are Bobby and Sheri Staten... marketing major... his dad was drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers after a distinguished baseball career at Kansas State... chose UH because of golf tradition, coaching staff and facilities... hobbies include skiing, soccer and fishing.
