TUCSON, Ariz. - The University of Houston golf team bounced back Tuesday in the final round of the PING Arizona Intercollegiate at Arizona National Country Club at Sabino Springs to finish in 15th place.

The Cougars came out ready to compete by shooting a 3-under-par 281 in the final round. Simon Robinson, Brett Callas and Kevin Newman each lead the attack by shooting a 1-under-par 70 for the final round.

The Cougars had a combined total of 870 for the three rounds, finishing 37 shots behind the tournament winner Arizona.

Freshman Zach Mowbray was the team's leading player, firing an even-par 71 to finish the tournament at even-par 213 and tie for 26th place.

Senior Simon Robinson also had an impressive third round with a 1-under-par 70. Unfortunately, it was not enough as he finished with a score of 220.

Other Cougar golfers were Brett Callas (t-61, 221), John Wine (t-68, 223) and Kevin Newman (75, 228).

Texas-El Paso's Chris Baryla took home the individual championship with a 10-under-par 203.
