Golf Finishes in 13th at Morris Williams Intercollegiate
March 16, 2004
AUSTIN, Texas - Zach Mowbray continued his steady play Tuesday as he shot his second consecutive even-par 72 during the final round of the Morris Williams Intercollegiate at Austin Country Club. With that score, the Mesa, Ariz., native tied for ninth place with a 36-hole total of 1-under-par 213. It also was his best tournament score and finish during the 2003-04 season. As a team, the Cougars fired a 294 during the final round to finish in 13th place on the 6,906-yard, par-72 course. BYU captured the team championship with a two-day score of 858, two strokes better than TCU. Oklahoma State, Tulsa, California, host Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Pepperdine and Baylor rounded out the top 10 team leaders. Individually, Arkansas's Andrew Dahl captured medallist honors despite shooting a 74 during the final round. Dahl finished at 10-under-par 206, four strokes better than Texas' Jason Hartwick. There will be little rest for the weary, as the Cougars return to action on Friday during the first round of the Hall of Fame Invitational at Redstone Golf Club in Houston.
