TUCSON, Ariz. - The University of Houston golf team wrapped up its stay with a 14th-place finish Monday during the National Invitational Tournament at the OMNI Tucson National Golf Club.

The Cougars posted a team score of 310 during the final 18 holes to finish at 906, 13 strokes ahead of Wyoming.

New Mexico captured the team championship with a score of 850, seven strokes ahead of host Arizona. TCU (861), UNLV (863), California (868), Kent State (871), Texas (872), Colorado State (880), Tulsa (883) and Arizona's "B" team (885) rounded out the top-10 team leaders.

Senior captain Ben Moser finished with a score of 221 to tie for 29th place and lead the Cougars. Other Cougars in action were Matt Eschenburg (227, t-62nd), Beau Davis (228, 67th), Jackie Lindsey (232, t-73rd) and senior captain Brady Shivers (237, t-79th).

New Mexico's Nick Geyer won medalist honors with a score of 9-under-par 207 to finish two strokes ahead of TCU's James Sacheck.

The Cougars return to action April 4-5 when they compete at the Administaff/ASU Invitational in Augusta, Ga.
