The Cougars posted a team score of 298 Tuesday morning but remained in seventh place with a 54-hole-total of 902 when each of the six teams ahead of them posted lower scores. Individually, junior Matt Eschenburg tied for 14th with a score of 222, while senior Jackie Lindsey tied for 22nd at 225. Other Cougars in action were senior Beau Davis (t-25th, 226), junior Clark Mitzner (t-42nd, 231) and redshirt freshman Joseph Reynolds (t-61st, 236), who was making his collegiate debut. Oklahoma won the team championship with a score of 886 to finish two strokes ahead of Kansas, Missouri, Louisiana-Lafayette. Illinois State (890) and Nebraska (895) rounded out the top-six team leaders. Kansas' Nate Barbee fired a 4-under-par 68 in the final round to win the individual title with a score of 5-under-par 211, three strokes ahead of Missouri's Jace Long. The Cougars return to action Oct. 5-6 when they compete at the Fighting Irish Gridiron Classic on the Warren Golf Course in South Bend, Ind.
