Complete Del Walker Intercollegiate Results (Oct. 16, 2008) in PDF Format LONG BEACH, Calif. - The University of Houston golf team stood in ninth team with a team score of 575 after the first day of the Del Walker Intercollegiate on Thursday. The Cougars posted a team score of 288 in the morning round on the 6,633-yard, par-70 course at Virginia Country Club and followed that with a score of 287 in the afternoon session to complete the first day at 7-over-par. Junior Ben Moser shot an even-par 70 in the opening round and posted the team's lone sub-par round of the day with a 68 in the afternoon session to tie for 10th place at 138. Other Cougars in action were Brady Shivers (144, t-35th), Jackie Lindsey (147, t-51st), Clark Mitzner (148, t-54th) and Beau Davis (152, t-61st). The tournament wraps up with the start of the final round at 9:30 a.m. (CDT), Friday. Live scoring will be available on GolfStat.com. Colorado State grabbed the first-day lead with a team score of 535, 21 strokes better than its closest competitor. The Rams' 36-hole total set a tournament record, besting the previous mark of 555 by Lamar in 2005. CSU's Zahkai Brown posted a score of 13-under-par 129, including a 63 in the afternoon round, to stand in first place, three strokes better than UC Irvine's John Chin. Colorado State's Dustin Morris and UTSA's Kyle Collins tied for third at 135.
