DURHAM, N.C. - The University of Houston golf team finished in 12th place Tuesday after the final 18 holes of the Duke Golf Classic in Durham, N.C.

The Cougars posted a team score of 307 on the 7,045-yard, par-72 course at Duke Golf Club to finish with a 54-hole total of 927. Augusta State took top team honors with a combined score of 866.

Brett Callas led the Cougars in individual play by shooting a 228 to tie for 33rd place.

Other Cougar golfers were Simon Robinson (T-49th, 234), Chris Cureton (T-54th, 236), Daniel Angenscheidt and Kevin Newman (both t-58th, 238).

Individually, Augusta State's Oliver Wilson walked away with medallist honors with a 7-under-par 209.

Duke, Illinois, Arizona State and Virginia Tech rounded out the top five team leaders.

The Cougars do not return to action until February 3-4 at the PING Arizona Collegiate in Tucson, Ariz.
