DALLAS - The University of Houston golf team wrapped up its fall season Tuesday afternoon with a ninth-place finish at the Baylor Intercollegiate.

The Cougars fired a team score of 297 during the final 18 holes for their lowest round of the event but was unable to move up in the team standings.

For the third straight tournament, junior Ben Moser led the Cougars, finishing with a score of 221 to tie for 17th.

Other Cougars in action were sophomore Matt Eschenburg (224, t-29th), senior Brady Shivers (230, t-50th), junior Jackie Lindsey (231, t-52nd) and junior Corey Steger (237, t-60th).

Texas A&M captured the team championship with a score of 870 to finish two strokes ahead of Oklahoma and Lamar. Arkansas (873) and Baylor (875) rounded out the top-five team leaders.

SMU's James Kwon grabbed medalist honors after shooting a 69 in the final round to finish at 1-under-par 212. Lamar's Justin Harding and Riley Pumphrey of Oklahoma tied for second at 213.

The Cougars now take a break until Feb. 16-17 when they open their spring campaign at the Rice Intercollegiate.
