HOUSTON - The University of Houston Men's Golf program takes the first step in its spring season Monday at the Rice Intercollegiate at Westwood Golf Club.

Redshirt freshman Emmett Oh and freshman Matt Scobie will represent the Cougars and compete as individuals at the two-day, 54-hole event.

This will be the Cougars' first action since the duo competed at the Sam Houston State/Harold Funston Invitational on Oct. 7-8 at Raven Nest Golf Club in Huntsville, Texas.

Fans can follow live scoring by visiting BirdieFire.com and following the appropriate links or by clicking here.

Oh competed in two tournaments during the fall season, finishing 12th at the SHSU/Harold Funston Invitational, during the fall finale. The Calgary, Alberta, Canada, native also fired a career-low 70 in the second round at the HBU Husky Invitational on Sept. 30, 2013.

Scobie appeared in three tournaments during the fall, posting a pair of top-9 finishes in the last two events. The Ajax, Ontario, Canada, tied for ninth at the HBU Husky Invitational on Sept. 30-Oct. 1, thanks to a final-round 69 and followed that with a fifth-place showing at the SHSU Harold Funston Invitational on Oct. 7-8, 2013.

Scobie posted three straight rounds of par or better at the latter event, including back-to-back 70s to close out the tournament.
