Golf's Moser Finishes Second to Lead the Cougars at the All-American Intercollegiate Invitational

HOUSTON -- University of Houston senior captain Ben Moser closed with a final round 3-under-par 69 to finish second at the All-American Intercollegiate Invitational held on the Traditions Course at Cypresswood Golf Club on Tuesday. Led by low-scoring finishes by Moser and sophomore Matt Eschenburg, the Cougars shot a team score of 300 during the final round to finish in fifth place with a three-round score of 893. Junior Beau Davis finished in a tie for 28th with a score of 227, while Eschenburg finished tied at 38th with a three-round score of 229. Junior Jackie Lindsey finished tied for 42nd with a 231 and sophomore Clark Mitzner finished tied for 50th with a score of 234. Southeastern Louisiana shot a 3-over par 291 in the final round, jumping up from third place on the leader board to claim the team title with a three-round total of 874. Middle Tennessee's Kent Bulle captured the individual title as the gold medalist ended the tournament 7-under-par. His opening-round 67 was a tournament best. Following the All-American Intercollegiate, the Cougars will take a break from competitive action before returning to play host to the Border Olympics at the Laredo Country Club in Laredo on March 13-14. The Cougars welcome Arkansas, Baylor, Houston Baptist, Lamar, Louisville, New Mexico State, New Orleans, North Texas, Notre Dame, Rice, Texas State, UALR, UT Arlington, Vanderbilt and Washington State.
