Cougars Look For Solid Outing Prior To Conference USA Championships

The No. 27 ranked University of Houston golf team will face an elite field in tournament action this Friday-Saturday (April 13-14) at the ASU Thunderbird/SAVANE Invitational in Arizona. A total of 21 schools will play 36 holes on Friday followed by a final round on Saturday at Arizona State's Karsten Golf Course (par-72, 7,027 yards).

The Cougars are paced by senior standout Andy Sanders. Sanders is the No. 23 ranked collegiate golfer in the country and the UH scoring leader at 72.2 shots per round. He will be joined in the Houston lineup this week by junior Wade Ormsby, sophomores Simon Robinson and Brett Callas, and true freshman Brad McIntosh.

Later this month Houston will attempt to claim its fifth-straight Conference USA Championship (April 23-25) at The Hidden Creek in Navarre, Florida.
