Houston, Texas- Former University of Houston All-American John Davis
returned to his alma mater and set a new Tom Tellez/Carl Lewis
International Stadium record in the men's shot put with a to of 65 feet,

A native of Long Beach, Calif., Davis set the record in the shot put
during his first meet at UH since earning All-American honors in the
shot put and discus during the 1998 and 1999 indoor and outdoor seasons.
He ranked second among Houston's all-time leaders in the shot put during
his collegiate career with a throw of 62 feet, 7 3/4 inches in 1998.
In addition to Davis' record-setting performance, Southern Utah State's
