When the University of Houston women's basketball hits the court for the first time in November, fans will notice some familiar faces on the Cougar bench as well as a pair of new ones as head coach Todd Buchanan finalized his coaching staff this week. Completing the UH coaching staff will be assistant coach Ravon Justice and director of operations Rusty Laverentz.

The University of Houston women's basketball team has canceled three camps for this summer, but instead is offering a Free Fundamental Camp on Saturday, August 7, for grades Kindergarten through ninth.

University of Houston women's basketball head coach Todd Buchanan announced the commitment of Michelle White on Tuesday. The 5-foot-8 guard will join the Cougars for the upcoming 2010-11 season and becomes the first player to sign a National Letter of Intent since Buchanan took the reigns of the program in April.

Following a standout season both on and off the court, Roxana Button of the University of Houston women's basketball team was one of the 12 Conference USA student-athletes to receive Spirit of Service Award for the winter sports season. This honor is bestowed on student-athletes who do significant community service, have and maintain good academic standing and excel in their respective sport. The awards are given out three times annually, and Button is the second Cougar to earn this honor this year.
