Former Murray State standout guard and Houston native, Alaina Lee was hired as Director of Basketball Operations for the University of Houston women's basketball program back on May 12, 2014.

Lee comes to Houston after spending three seasons as the Assistant Director of Basketball Operations and Video Coordinator for the University of Kansas women's basketball program. She served as the liaison between other departments, while she also helped coordinate KU's summer camps, among other administrative duties.

"Alaina is extremely sharp and we're really excited to welcome her to this staff," said head coach Ronald Hughey. "Her Houston ties are going to be huge for us, but most importantly she's just a person destined for greatness. She's an individual that just seems to succeed in everything she does. No task is too big or too small for her."

Lee made her mark as a four-year letterwinning guard at Murray State University, as she started for three seasons there and helped guide the racers to the 2008 Ohio Valley Conference Championship, as well as the program's first NCAA Tournament berth. She ended her collegiate career ranked second in program history in appearances, having played in 114 games and ranked 22nd with 861 career points.

The Houston, Texas native returns home and brings her Texas ties with her, as she spent two seasons as an assistant coach at Blinn College in Brenham (2008-10).

During her stint with the Buccaneers, Lee served as the team's recruiting coordinator in addition to assisting players with skill development and weight training. She also helped coach Brateicka Mock to two all-region selections, while Blinn qualified for postseason action in both years.

Lee's coaching resume also includes stints as a head coach and assistant coach with the Houston Elite AAU basketball program. She also served as the head basketball coach at the E.O. Smith Educational Center, where she also worked as a physical education teacher.

A member of the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA), Lee graduated from Murray State in 2008 with a bachelor's degree in health and physical education.
