Chad Rickett enters his third season with women's basketball program, but his first in his new role as assistant coach.
Prior to becoming assistant coach, Rickett served the program the previous two years as the Director of Basketball Operations, where he managed the day-to-day administration of the program while coordinating film exchange, managing the road operations for the team and serving as a liaison to the athletic department staff.
The Houston native came to UH after a standout basketball career at Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas.
The four-year letterwinner was part of the 2007 Lone Star Conference Championship team that was an NCAA Division II South Central Region Semifinalist. He was named to the 2007 LSC All-Tournament Team.
During the summers from 2004-06, Rickett worked as a fundamentals coordinator at the MSU basketball camp. He taught students from elementary through high school age the fundamentals of the game, ensuring that each had a satisfactory level of participation through the camp. He has also worked at the Gilruth Center as a private session coordinator and as a counselor at the Lynn McDonald Summer Basketball Camp.
Rickett earned his bachelor's degree in kinesiology from Midwestern State in May of 2007. He is single and lives in Houston.
