TAMPA, Fla - Sparked by a strong effort off the bench from Ki Ki Harris the University of Houston women's basketball team beat the USF Bulls 62-57 Saturday afternoon at the Sun Dome in Tampa, Fla.
Harris sank two free throws with ** seconds to play to put the Lady Cougars up by five points to seal the win. Harris finished with a season and career high 16 points off the bench to spark Houston to its 16th win of the season.
The Lady Cougars started the game slow scoring just 18 points in the opening half, but the offense came alive in the second half, outscoring the Bulls 44-33 in the second half.
Houston (16-3, 4-1) was led in scoring by All American Chandi Jones who finished with her first double double of the year, scoring 21 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Sancho Lyttle added 11 points and nine boards for the Lady Cougars.
The Bulls were led by freshman Jessica Dickson who scored a game high 25 points while Ezria Parsons grabbed 12 rebounds.
Houston will be in action again Monday night at 7 p.m. when they on the UAB Blazers in Birmingham Ala.
