    HOUSTON HEAD COACH Todd Buchanan

    Opening Statement
"I think the way I feel right now, you go from the highest of highs on Sunday and then you come back to the lowest of lows. I'm not taking anything away from Tulsa because they made the plays they needed to make and certainly made the three-point shot that they needed to make. They converted several mishaps and turnovers from us into easy baskets on the other end. I have no excuses there. We didn't get the job done. Our half court defense was bad. If we scored in the mid 50's, I don't think that's the way we win basketball games. We need to score in the 70's preferably."

On what happened after 45-40 lead
"I think we got a little satisfied. It seemed like we played very tight down the stretch. I don't know why, really. I felt like we played nervous and tight. We went back to the same stuff. I thought that they made a nice adjustment on Porsche with hedging out and trying to trap her and take the ball out of her hands. We made poor decisions as a result of that."

On biggest issue during the game
"I think the lack of execution is number one. We went through a time there where it felt like an eternity before we scored. Again, I think we played tight and I felt like we played passive. I don't think we played anything that resembled the way we played on Sunday. We shot almost 40 percent from three the first half and 20 percent the second half. We couldn't make them when we needed them most. I thought we missed some really costly free throws. That's what kills me the most. You go through this and you put so much into it. At the end of the day, I feel like we beat ourselves. We had 16 turnovers. I think if anybody goes back and watches that tape, they'll agree with me."

    SENIOR GUARD Porsche Landry

On what led to the momentum swing after the five-point lead
"We didn't get stops on defense. We let them come back, they executed, hit a couple threes and we didn't execute on defense. We have to play both sides of the ball and we didn't. We have to learn how to stay up when we're up."

    On team's 16 turnovers
"As far as the team, I would take the turnover problem because I had eight turnovers. I shouldn't have had that many turnovers. I have to be more careful with the ball."

On what hurt the team the most tonight
"Free throws. They had a lot of second chances and we have to crash the boards more. We were out rebounded 42-33. We have to knock down the easy ones. We have to make the easy layups and free throws."

On the disappointment of this loss after win over Rice
"It's very disappointing. We got our tempo back for Rice and it was like we just didn't finish today. If we'd had the same mentality that we had against Rice then we would have been good tonight. I have to give it to (Kelsee) Grovey, she came out and knocked some big shots down when they needed it."

On the biggest momentum shifting moment in the game
"It was really just all on the defensive side and being careless with the ball, turning it over and giving up fast breaks. We can't let them get offensive rebounds during crucial times."
