HOUSTON - The University of Houston women's basketball team is set for its final non-conference game of the season, traveling to face Lamar at 5:00 p.m., Tuesday evening at Montagne Center in Beaumont, Texas.

The Cougars snapped a two-game skid with a 93-63 rout of Houston Baptist in their last action on Dec. 30 to improve to 4-1 in away games and 6-2 on the road, including neutral-site contests. Four Cougars scored in double figures, led by Brittney Scott's game-high 23 points. Lesslee Mason registered her third double-double of the year with season highs of 17 points and 13 rebounds, while Porsche Landry added 17 points off the bench after battling illness for much of the day.

Houston currently tops Conference USA in scoring with 75.3 points per game, while Courtney Taylor ranks sixth nationally in double-doubles (eight) and seventh in rebounding (11.7 rpg), despite missing the last two contests with an injury.

    ABOUT LAMAR
The Lady Cardinals have won five-straight contests to improve to 10-3 overall, including a perfect 6-0 mark at home. In head coach Larry Tidwell's four seasons at Lamar, the Lady Cardinals are 43-5 at the Montagne Center, including a 24-0 record against non-conference foes.

Kalis Loyd leads Lamar with 14.5 points, while also posting 5.8 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game. Monique Whittaker (14.1 ppg) and Jenna Plumley (13.2 ppg, 5.8 apg) are also scoring in double figures, while Trashanna Smith tops the team with 8.9 rebounds per contest.

The Lady Cardinals return three starters and six letterwinners from last year's squad that went 26-8 and advanced to the NCAA Tournament.

    SERIES HISTORY
The Cougars and Lady Cardinals will meet for the 30th time on Tuesday, as Houston holds a 20-9 advantage, including a 6-5 record in Beaumont, Texas. The two teams have only played each other once in the last 12 seasons, as Houston rallied from a 26-point second-half deficit to triumph at home on Jan. 2, 2008.
