April 24, 2014
HOUSTON--- Guard Janee Arnold became the newest addition to the University of Houston Women's Basketball team, after signing a National Letter of Intent for the 2014-15 academic year, the program announced Thursday.
Arnold comes to Houston after having a breakout senior season at East Central High School. She averaged a high school career-high 13 points and four rebounds during the 2013-14 campaign.
The Tulsa, Oklahoma native led the Cardinals to a 22-5 overall record, while helping them obtain a perfect 12-0 district mark and a berth in the state championship game.
She scored in double figures in 20 of 24 contests played last season, including pouring in a career-best 35 points in a 53-39 win over Washington High back on Dec. 3, where she shot 9-of-12 from the field for 75 percent. She also scored in double figures in six straight games to end the season.
Arnold stands at 5-foot-6 and prides herself on playing gritty defense, while she also owns a nice mid-range shot.
She joins Fatima Adams, Moesha Kinard, Dejah Joshua, and Sandra Davis in Houston's 2014-15 recruiting class.
