HOUSTON - University of Houston junior women's basketball student-athlete Mae Woods will travel to India for two weeks beginning Monday as part of a program with Houston's C.T. Bauer College of Business.
Woods' travel party will be stationed in New Delhi and will travel to several major cities in India and visit some of the world's largest companies.
The group, which features mostly MBA students, will spend the first six days in New Delhi, where they will visit the President's Palace, Parliament and other sightseeing attractions.
Beginning on Saturday, June 1, the Houston students will begin traveling through the country, starting with a trip to Agra, featuring a visit to the Taj Mahal.
Over the next week, the group will begin travel to Hyderabad, Pune and Mumbai, where they will visit companies such as Microsoft, Google, Deloitte, Tata Motors, Infosys, Reserve Bank of India and Reliance.
Woods, a native of Maple Ridge, British Columbia, was named the women's basketball Academic MVP following the 2012-13 season and has appeared in 70 career contests with 22 starts in her three years.
