Houston Learns Conference Opponents

June 8, 2017

PROVIDENCE – The Houston Cougar Women’s Basketball program learned its American Athletic Conference pairings for the 2017-18 season with an announcement from league officials on Thursday.

With the addition of Wichita State to the American Athletic Conference on July 1, the league will have 12 members which will play a 16-game schedule. Each team will play five of its 11 opponents twice, while meeting six opponents once each – three at home and three away.

The Cougars drew Cincinnati, East Carolina, SMU, Tulane and Wichita State as teams they will meet in a home-and-home series. Defending American Athletic Conference champion and National Semifinalist UConn headlines the group of three teams the Cougars will only face in Houston. The Coogs will also welcome UCF and Memphis for one-game only. The Cougars face USF, Temple and Tulsa on the road only.

The 2017-18 women’s basketball schedule with completed dates and times will be announced at a later date.
