HOUSTON--- Mansa El has been brought in as a graduate assistant for the University of Houston Women's Basketball program, head coach Ronald Hughey announced on Tuesday.
El comes to Houston after playing two seasons for the University of South Alabama Women's Basketball program. She averaged a team-leading 12.1 points per game and collected a team-best 39 steals on the year, while earning All-Sunbelt Conference Third Team honors during her senior season.
"We're excited to have Mansa join our program," Hughey said. "She brings great enthusiasm and obviously has a great understanding for the game of basketball. We're looking forward to her new innovative ideas, as we continue to get this program back to where it needs to be."
El also served as an assistant women's basketball coach for West Virginia Wesleyan College during the 2013-14 campaign and coached the Houston Cobras on the AAU circuit during the summer of 2009.
