Cougars Complete #Chillin4Charity Challenge
June 20, 2014
HOUSTON--- The University of Houston Women's Basketball program accepted and completed the #Chillin4Charity Cold Water Challenge, as head coach Ronald Hughey and the rest of the coaching staff had buckets of ice water dumped on their heads in an effort to raise money for the Kay Yow Cancer Fund Friday afternoon.
The Cougars became the latest participants in a movement that has gone viral this summer, as women's basketball coaches and staff members alike have challenged each other to raise money for the Kay Yow Cancer Fund. So far over 50 collegiate women's basketball programs have participated in the event.
"This is just a great idea coach Niya Butts and her staff came up with at the University of Arizona," said head coach Ronald Hughey. "Not only is this a fun way to get out and support a great cause, but it's really hot in Houston so more water on our heads, the better!"
"In all seriousness, this is a great thing and our program is just so thankful to be a part of it."
The Cougars were challenged by the University of Arizona Women's Basketball program to take part in the challenge, and now that Houston has completed the challenge, each one of Arizona coaching staff members will donate $50 to the fund.
The UH coaching staff has now made its challenges, and if the challenge is met, each one of them will donate $50 to the cause.
The challenges have been dished out. Click the video below to see who will be #Chillin4Charity next!
