HOUSTON - University of Houston women's basketball head coach Todd Buchanan teamed up with Friendswood Community Church on Monday for a charity tournament held at Timber Creek Golf Club to benefit the families in Moore, Okla., affected by the tornados in May.

"It was an absolute honor to assist Friendswood Community Church in raising funds for the victims of the Oklahoma tornados," said Buchanan. "It's always a privilege to be able to help others when they're in need like so many are after this terrible tragedy. Our thoughts and prayers will continue to be with those affected throughout the rebuilding process."

Friendswood Community Church partnered with a fellow church in Moore to identify families in need with all proceeds going to those victims. The tournament was held in a scramble format that also featured a barbeque dinner, raffles and an auction to raise proceeds.

Buchanan, who enters his fourth season with the Cougars, competed in a foursome with fellow Houston supporters.
