Cougars in the Community Blog | Video
HOUSTON--- With the new academic school year right around the corner, summer has just about come and gone. But while most college students used the summer to take a break from it all or get some much-needed rest from a stressful academic school year, the University of Houston Women's Basketball team spent its time giving back and getting involved in its community.
"We all had a great time this summer," said head coach Ronald Hughey. "Not only did we all get a chance to get to know one another, but we were able to get out and do some good things for a community that already does so much for us."
Your Cougars spent time at the Texas Children's Hospital, the Ronald McDonald House, Star of Hope, hanging with Harlie, Meals on Wheels, chilled for charity, and launched their original student-athlete mentor program.

ABOUT THE 2014-15 COUGARS
Since joining the program as its newest head coach back in April, Ronald Hughey and the rest of the UH coaching staff have been hard at work on the recruiting circuit.
The Cougars finalized their 2014-15 recruiting class a couple of months ago with the signing of guard Mariah Mitchell(McKinney, Texas), who was a three-time all-district team member during her time at McKinney High School. She joins Fatima Adams (Bryan, Texas), Moesha Kinard (New Iberia, La.), DeJah Joshua (Gary, Ind.), Janee Arnold (Tulsa, Okla.) and Sandra Davis (Odenton, MD), to make up the rest of this year's signing class.
