HOUSTON – Houston Cougar Women’s Basketball Head Coach Ronald Hughey has been invited to appear as an instructor at the United Basketball Clinics’ Greater Houston Coaches Clinic on Sept. 9, in Tomball, Texas.
"I'm extremely grateful and honored for the opportunity to help out with the UBC Greater Houston Coaches Clinic," Hughey said. "This is a great way to be able to give back to area coaches in our community and to grow the sport of basketball."
UBC partners with Noah Basketball to put on regional clinics in multiple cities across the United States to provide first-class and affordable coaching clinics for coaches of all levels. The organization uses on-court demonstration as one of the best methods for attending coaches to incorporate the concepts of being taught.
As part of the clinic, Hughey will teach area coaches his dribble-drive motion offense as well as a breakdown of various shooting drills. The clinic will also include Rice’s Scott Pera and Sam Houston State’s Jason Hooten as mentors as well as high school and youth coaches from around the area.
The clinic begins at 9 a.m., on Saturday, Sept. 9, and continues through 4 p.m., with Hughey’s segment running from 10:15-11:10 a.m.
