HOUSTON, Texas - University of Houston women's basketball head coach Joe Curl and his staff announced that they have signed two more players for next season during the NCAA early signing period.

"We're very excited about this very athletic, very talented additions," said head coach Joe Curl. "Their biggest asset is their ability to defend all over the court."

Cynecia Robinson, a 6-4 native of Houston, Texas, has been named to the All-District second team each of the last two years for Dobie High School. Last season she averaged 9.0 points per game and 7.9 rebounds as Dobie was claimed District Co-Champs and Area Champs.

"We're very excited about having her," said Curl. "Her size is a big advantage, as is her athleticism and her ability to defend 94 by 50."

The final addition is Crystal Simpson, a two-sport standout in volleyball and basketball for Galveston Ball High School. The 5-11 senior has won numerous acclaims throughout her high school career, such as being named All-Tournament four times in both sports and Most Valuable Player. In addition to her athletics, Simpson is an outstanding student who has had perfect attendance and been named to the honor roll in each of the past two years, and she tutors kids during her free time.

"She's a phenomenal overall athlete," Curl said of Simpson. "She is so versatile, hase the ability to play one of four positions, and brings the whole package."
