After three solid performances last week, University of Houston women's basketball junior forward Courtney Taylor was named Conferences USA Player of the Week on Monday.

Taylor averaged 19 points, 12.7 rebounds and two blocks, as well as recording a pair of double-doubles last week. She also shot 54.8 percent from the field and 50.0 from 3-point line. The double-doubles were the 27th and 28th for her career placing her in a tie for third on the all-time UH double-double list with Sonya Watkins (1982-86) and Vickey Finch (1979-83). She sits just seven away from all-time leader Sancho Lyttle, who tallied 35 in her Cougar career.

The Crockett, Texas native scored a game-high 25 points and had 10 rebounds in a win at UT-Arlington. She followed up that performance with a career-best 19 rebounds, one shy of the school record, and netted 14 points in the team's season home opener win against Oregon State. Taylor scored a game-high 18 points in the final game of the week at No. 7 LSU.

This is Taylor's first Player of the Week honor this season and third of her career.
