HOUSTON, Texas (Nov. 29) - The University of Houston hosts Indiana University and Louisiana Tech, currently ranked No. 9 by ESPN/USA Today and No. 11 by the Associated Press, in the annual Hilton Houston Hobby Airport Classic Tournament Dec. 1-3 at Hofheinz Pavilion on the UH campus.
Last year Houston lost both games in the tournament, falling to North Texas in the first round, 71-65, and then to Georgia in the final round, 98-68. Last year's tournament was also the last time Houston has participated in a tournament and dropped both games.
Since the start of the Hilton Hobby Classic during the 1992-93 season, the Lady Cougars have posted a 6-8 record in the tournament. The only season they did not host the event was during the 1997-98 season.
The Lady Techsters of Louisiana Tech lead the overall series against the Lady Cougars, 4-1, including an even 1-1 at Hofheinz Pavilion. Houston fell to Louisiana Tech by a final of 94-49 in the two schools' last meeting on December 28, 1999. Indiana also leads the overall series against the Lady Cougars, 2-0.
After going 1-1 at the Pepperdine Classic in Malibu, California, this past weekend Houston is now 4-7 over their last 11 tournament games, including a 1-4 record in five tournament games last season.

The Lady Cougars take on the Lady Roadrunners of UT-San Antonio tonight, November 29, at 7:00pm at Convocation Center in San Antonio. They are currently 2-2 this season.
