    Mary Michael Maggio Joins Women's Golf

    Former Texas A&M letterwinner to serve as volunteer assistant coach in 2013-14

    Former Texas A&M letterwinner Mary Michael Maggio joined the University of Houston Women's Golf program as a volunteer assistant coach in the summer of 2013. She was promoted to full-time assistant coach in February 2014 and left for another position later that summer.

    This was Maggio's first coaching position at the collegiate level. She joined the Cougars after an outstanding playing career at Texas A&M.

    After competing her first two seasons at LSU (2009-11), Maggio transferred to Texas A&M for her final two years. There, she won two individual titles, including the 2012 Big 12 Conference crown. For her impressive efforts, she was named to the All-Big 12 Team and the Big 12 All-Tournament Team.

    Maggio was honored as the Big 12 Golfer of the Month for April 2012 and was named a GolfWeek Player of the Week in October 2012.

    Throughout her career at both schools, she was an active member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and served as the Women's Golf team representative for the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee with the Aggies.
