GAINESVILLE, Fla. - For the second straight day, University of Houston junior Courtney Ferguson led the Cougars and moved into the top-11 leaders after shooting a 71 on Saturday during the SunTrust Gator Invitational.

Competing on the 6,002-yard, par-70 Mark Bostick Golf Course, Ferguson drained a pair of birdies in the second round and stood in a tie for 11th at 145.

Teammate Raegan Bremer bettered her first-round total by seven strokes and stood in a tie for 59th at 145.

Texas A&M's Marijosse Navarro stood atop the individual leaderboard at even-par 140, one stroke ahead of Elizabeth Brightwell (Virginia), Natalie Goodson (Kent State) and Camilla Hedberg (Florida)

With only two student-athletes competing as individuals, Houston was not eligible for the team championship. Now in its first year of existence, Houston Women's Golf will field a full team for the 2014-15 season.

No. 37 Kent State surged into the team lead after posting a score of 279 and stood five strokes in front of No. 30 Ohio State at 575. No. 12 Arizona, No. 32 Texas A&M and No. 29 Virginia were tied for third at 581.

The Final Round tees off Sunday morning. Fans can follow live scoring by visiting Golfstat.com and clicking the appropriate links or by clicking here. Both Cougars will start the Final Round off No. 18 with Bremer in the first group and Ferguson in the second group.
