MESA, Ariz. -- The University of Houston Women's Golf program capped a successful week in Arizona with a fourth-place finish at the Clover Cup at Longbow Golf Club on Sunday afternoon.
The Cougars, who are ranked No. 50 in the latest Golfstat national poll, posted a score of 306 in Sunday's Final Round on the 6,184-yard, par-72 course for a three-day, 54-hole total of 868.
Junior Ivon Reijers was the only Cougar to finish under par in the Final Round with a 71 and tied for 12th at even-par 216. Standing at 3-over through her first nine holes, the Barcelona native drained five birdies with only one bogey during her final nine holes.
Sophomore Leonie Harm joined Reijers among the top-12 leaders with a score of 216 as well. The Gerlingen, Germany, native tied her own school record with a 66 in Saturday's Second Round and led or held a share of the team lead for the fifth straight tournament to open the spring season
Junior Courtney Tibiletti, who opened the tournament with a school-record-tying 66 of her own, tied for 21st at 220, while junior Megan Thothong tied for 26th at 221. Junior Allie Andersen tied for 38th at 224.
No. 5 Arizona State earned the team championship with a score of 838 to finish 13 strokes in front of No. 25 Oklahoma. No. 4 Florida State finished third at 853 with No. 30 TCU (882), No. 46 Kentucky (884), Notre Dame (887), Minnesota (887), FIU (889) and Vanderbilt (897) rounding out the top 10.
Oklahoma's Julienne Soo captured medalist honors with a score of 13-under 203. Arizona State teammates Linnea Strom, Monica Vaughn and Sophia Zeeb finished 2-3-4 with scores of 207, 208 and 210, respectively.
Following the Clover Cup, the Cougars compete at the Clemson Invitational, scheduled for March 31-April 2 at The Reserve at Lake Keowee in Sunset, S.C., in the team's regular-season finale.
From there, Houston enters the postseason when they compete at the American Athletic Conference Championships on The Conservatory Course at Hammock Beach Golf & Spa Resort on April 16-18.
The Cougars look to defend their title from a year ago, the first in the program's young history.
