Ferguson Leads Houston Women's Golf Finishes at SDSU Farms Invitational

RANCHO SANTA FE, Calif. - University of Houston junior Courtney Ferguson bettered her first-round score by 14 strokes and surged into 63rd place with a score of 148 after the second round of the SDSU Farms Invitational on Tuesday afternoon.
Starting on hole No. 10, the Clear Lake, Texas, native birdied two of her first four holes and added only two bogeys on her scorecard for the final 14 holes. After shooting a tough 86 in Monday's First Round, Ferguson claimed the team lead with her 36-hole score
Celebrating her 20th birthday Tuesday, sophomore Raegan Bremer stood in a tie for 70th at 161.

With only two student-athletes competing, the Cougars will not be eligible for the team title on the 6,237-yard, par-72 course at The Farms Golf Club.
UCLA held the team lead with a score of 571 to stand four strokes in front of Stanford. USC (579), Arizona State (579) and San Diego State (584) rounded out the top-five team leaders.
Individually, San Diego State's Emma Henrikson moved into the lead after shooting a 69 Tuesday for a 137 to finish three strokes in front of Stanford teammates Casey Danielson and Lauren Kim.
Following the San Diego State Farms Invitational, the Cougars return home to play locally at the HBU Husky Invitational on March 31-April 1 at Riverbend Country Club in Sugar Land, Texas.
From there, the team will close out its regular-season schedule at the SMU Invitational on April 4-6 in Dallas.
