Raegan Bremer Named The American's Golfer of the Week
April 2, 2014
HOUSTON - A day after earning the first individual title of her career, University of Houston sophomore Raegan Bremer was honored Wednesday afternoon as The American Athletic Conference Golfer of the Week.
The Anaheim, Calif., native won the HBU Husky Invitational on Tuesday with a 54-hole score of 221. Bremer was the only Cougar to break par in the Final Round to take a 3-stroke win over Lamar's Taylor Stockton.
She lowered her scores by at least three strokes during the final two rounds and recorded her best finish since tying for sixth at the Cardinal Cup on Sept. 16-17, 2013. It was her second top-10 finish this season and the third of her career.
This season, Bremer leads Houston with a 74.79 scoring average and seven rounds of par or better. It is the first weekly conference award of her career.
Bremer and her Houston teammates close out their regular-season schedule at the SMU Invitational starting Friday in Dallas. That three-day, 54-hole tournament runs through Sunday.
From there, Houston will take part in the inaugural American Athletic Conference Championships on April 20-22 at the Ocean Course at Hammock Beach Resort and Golf Club in Palm Coast, Fla.
