DALLAS - Playing steady all day, University of Houston sophomore Raegan Bremer stood in a tie for second place Friday afternoon after the First Round of the Dallas Athletic Club/SMU Invitational.

Starting her day on No. 1, Bremer parred her first six holes before draining a birdie on the 135-yard, par-3 seventh hole. After five more pars, she endured the only blemish on her scorecard, a bogey on the 496-yard, par 5 13th hole.

Bremer then wrapped up her first round with five consecutive pars to join a group of four others at even-par 72 on the 6,257-yard, par-72 course at Dallas Athletic Club. That group stood one stroke behind Kansas' Yupaporn Kawinpakorn for the first-round lead.

That level of play has been nothing new for Bremer lately. The Anaheim, Calif., native captured medalist honors at the HBU Husky Invitational on Tuesday afternoon. She was the only competitor to break par in the final round and finished at 217.

Junior Courtney Ferguson was tied for 41st with a 79, while freshman Emily Gilbreth tied for 53rd at 80.

Sixth-ranked Baylor held the first-day lead after posting a team score of 294 to stand seven strokes in front of No. 18 LSU. No. 15 Oklahoma State (305), No. 40 Kansas (306), No. 29 North Carolina (307), Texas Tech (307) and UTSA (307) rounded out the top-leaders.
