Raegan Bremer Honored as The American's Golfer of the Week

    April 9, 2014

HOUSTON - For the second straight week, University of Houston sophomore Raegan Bremer was honored as the American Athletic Conference Women's Golfer of the Week.

Bremer led the Cougar and tied for seventh at the Dallas Athletic Club/SMU Invitational last weekend. The Anaheim, Calif., native opened that tournament with an even-par 72 on the 6,257-yard course and finished 36 holes with a score of 147. Sunday's Final Round was cancelled due to heavy lightning in the area.

It was her third top-10 finish of the 2013-14 season and the fourth of her career.

Her honor comes a week after she won her first collegiate event. On April 1, she captured medalist honors at the HBU Husky Invitational at Sugar Land's Riverbend Country Club. She was the only competitor to break par in the Final Round.

UCF's Greg Eason was honored as The American's Men's Golfer of the Week.
