    Cougars Blank Cowgirls For First Win of Season

    AUSTIN, Texas - In an attempt to claim their first road win of the season, the Cougars were unable to hold off a fierce Texas offense in the second half. Houston suffered a tough loss in a 2-0 shutout at Myers Stadium Friday night.

    The loss drops Houston to 0-2 on the season as Texas evens its record at 1-1.

    The Cougars played a hard fought first half and were able to hold off the Longhorn offense until after halftime. Sophomore goal keeper Lauren Frazier was able to tally two saves while freshman Ryan Bruz and junior Melanie Adelman were able to fire off two shots on goal.

    Texas garnered two goals in the second half, claiming the victory.

    The Cougars will return to action on the west coast Friday, Sept. 4 when they square off against the Pepperdine Waves at 3 p.m. PT.
