Soccer Gets First Road Win At Louisiana-Lafayette
Aug. 31, 2012
LAFAYETTE, La.- The University of Houston soccer team gets its first road win after defeating Louisiana-Lafayette, 2-1, at the Cajuns Track/Soccer Facility Friday evening. "Tonight's game was a good win for us," head coach Chris Pfau said. "We settled down as the game went on and played as a team for the entire 90 minutes. This game showed us what we can do if we stick together. We now have to put this behind us and focus on a very good LSU team." Sophomore forward Kayla Walker would put the Cougars on the board first after beating a UL defender in the 27th minute to score her second goal of the season. Houston increased their lead in the 71st minute when senior forward Katelyn Rhodes knocked in her first goal of the 2012 slate off a pass from Walker. The Cajun's would get within one in the 82nd minute with a ball to the back of the net but it wouldn't be enough and the Cougars would hold off for the victory. Junior goalkeeper Cami Koski walked away with her first win of the season, making two saves in the match. UP NEXT SEASON TICKETS GROUP TICKET INFORMATION
