PHILADEPHIA, Pa. – The Houston Soccer team drops to 5-7-1 on the season after a 2-0 loss to Temple, Thursday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Two quick goals a mere three minutes apart inside the 14th and 17th minutes would result in a 2-0 loss for the Cougars in Philadephia.
Houston had its share of scoring opportunities, racking up 18 shots over the course of the afternoon. Jazmin Grant had a game-high five shots, including one that was on target. Mia Brascia followed that up with four shots of her own and one on target.
Kate Godfrey made her second start for the Cougars, notching four saves on 13 attempts.
- Eight Cougars recorded shots during that match, including three players with one shot on goal.
- Houston outshot the Owls 11-5 in the second frame and 18-13 overall, the Cougars also notched one more corner kick than Temple.
- Houston falls to 5-7-1 on the season and 1-4-0 in American action.
- Temple now leads the all-time series with Houston 0-3-0
Houston will head to Storrs, Conn. to the face UConn in a morning matchup. Opening kick is slated for 11 a.m.
