HOUSTON — Houston Soccer faced a tough test with the No. 15-ranked UCF Knights on Thursday evening, falling 4-0 at Carl Lewis Complex in American Athletic Conference play.

The Cougars were tested early as UCF, in limited shots, found the back of the net with two goals in each half. The Knights jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first six minutes of play, but Houston was able to limit the shots to wrap up the first half.

UCF, up 2-0, added two more goals in the second half during the 49th and 64th minutes, respectively.

Houston fired off six shots, two landing on goal off the feet of juniors Kelsey Zamora and Alexis Weaver.

Senior goalkeeper Sydney George played all 90 minutes in goal, collecting six saves. UCF was led offensively by Tatiana Coleman, who had three shots, two landing on goal, one goal and two assists.

The Knights used two keepers with Lianne Maldonado collecting two saves in 66 minutes for the win.

Houston will wrap up the 2013 regular season on Sunday at 1 p.m. when it welcomes USF to Carl Lewis Complex. The Cougars will honor their 11 seniors prior to kickoff.
