Cougars Hit Road For Final Away Series

The University of Houston soccer program announced its spring schedule on Tuesday, which includes two tournaments and three games throughout the city of Houston.

"We have five dates that we are playing," head coach Susan Bush said. "We are hosting a tournament here on March 3 and we will be playing Stephen F. Austin, Lamar University and HBU. We also have some other events set against some Texas teams, so it should be a valuable experience for our team."

The 2012 Cougars are looking forward to a fresh start and another exciting season. The team begins its spring schedule against St. Edward's University at Burrough's Park in Tomball on Feb. 18.

"Everyone was frustrated with this past season so we are ready to work hard again in preparation for the fall," Bush said.

Houston kicks off its home slate against Navarro Junior College at Carl Lewis Field on Feb. 26 and the UH Tournament follows on March 3.

The Cougars then have three weeks off before the HBU 7-v-7 Tournament on March 31.

From there, the Cougars will wrap up their spring play against Tyler Junior College on April 14 in Houston.

"The spring is a fun time," Bush said. "There is a lot less pressure and we get to mix and match and try people at new positions. It's going to be fun."
