Cougars Ready For First Game Of Spring Slate

Houston Soccer Adds To Recruiting Class

Soccer Concludes First Week of Spring Practice

Feb. 24, 2010

HOUSTON – Due to limited numbers, the University of Houston soccer coaching staff has cancelled its 4 p.m. matchup against Texas Tech in the Austin Lonestar Showcase on Saturday. The Cougars will still play an 11-on-11 game against Baylor at 10 a.m. as scheduled.

Houston is coming off a successful weekend at College Station having won all seven-on-seven games against Sam Houston State, Lamar and UTEP.

“All the players contributed, and it was a solid and successful weekend,” head coach Susan Bush said. “It is a good start to the spring for our team to gain confidence as we go into full-sided games. We are injury-riddled at the moment, but are looking forward to competing in an 11-on-11 match for the first time since our fall season ended.”

A Look Ahead
Houston hosts a pair of games on March 28 at the Carl Lewis Complex, welcoming North Texas at 9 a.m. and Houston Baptist at 4:30 p.m.
